Ouch!

No smoking sign didn't want to come off the wall... Good news is I won. I think.

Improving, one room at a time

Or one hallway at a time. I'm working on the engine room hall which is centered aft of the galley. The "smoking permitted above decks" sign is almost off. It's coming off in small chunks. I think it's been there for a while. I've primed the starboard side of the hall and will be sanding and priming the rest in a few minutes. It appears that the wood was pickled quite a while ago. The current color is sort of a mottled orange in places and beige in others. I'm going high gloss interior/exterior white just like I did in the owners' stateroom. Should be a a nice result and resemble fiberglass with a gel coat thereby updating the wood. I love wood, but a narrow hallway needs light. This solves that issue. The floor has been covered with an old tablecloth...that is not my flooring. :)

Yahoo!

I know it's been a while, but school just got out for the summer so I can catch up!  I've still completed a few small projects. Here are the ones I can think of.  First, I used appliance epoxy on the fridge making it appear brand new again!  Then, living the result, I used the appliance epoxy on the dinette Formica. It worked beautifully and has help up as well as new Formica!  I've sanded and varnished many places ( the latest we're the French doors that go onto the aft deck), tinted windows in the entire salon (you can see a bit of reflection in the glass on the doors), painted the rooftop deck box, caulked under every screw I can find ( hopefully I can prevent any leaks during rainy season), sanded and added a coat of varnish to the hand rails, installed a washing machine, and today I used the appliance epoxy on half the galley counters!  Whew! I'm sure there's more that I'll have to add later. Sorry the pics are out of story order. This free app won't let me move them around.Ta ta for now! : )
